The Society´s logotype was created by the Norwegian architect Thore Svingen for the International Congress of Neuropathology in Stockholm 1986.
The stylized brain is protected by a viking helmet. These helmets were simple and consisted of a bowl with a prominent nose guard.
The viking ship was created 2011 by the Swedish design student Elisabeth Magnin Gidholm. Each oar represents one of the Nordic countries.
The vikings were very good seamen. Their ships had excellent properties; they were fast, easy to manoeuvre and they could be rowed or sailed. There were many different types of ships for different purposes. The vikings sailed east, south and west to trade but also to plunder. The Viking age begun around 800 AD and ended in the middle of the 11th century.
